The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is excited to announce the opening of nominations for the prestigious Outstanding Educator Award for the 2025-2026 academic year. This award recognizes and celebrates educators who have significantly impacted student learning and development.

Education plays a crucial role in shaping future leaders. Exceptional educators drive this progress by going beyond traditional teaching methods to foster environments that maximize student learning. The Outstanding Educator Award honors these individuals for their innovative practices and dedication.

QAHE aims to inspire excellence and lifelong learning by acknowledging visionary educators. This recognition encourages educators to set high standards and embrace continuous improvement, which are vital for maintaining a competitive edge in the global educational landscape.

Objectives of the Award

The Outstanding Educator Award has three primary objectives. Firstly, it aims to acknowledge the contributions of educators who have made significant impacts on their students. This recognition serves not only to highlight individual achievements but also to demonstrate the substantial influence educators can have on the educational journey of their students.

Secondly, the award celebrates the unique roles that professional educators play in nurturing various aspects of student development. This includes not only academic growth but also social and emotional development, thereby underscoring the multifaceted nature of education.

Lastly, the award fosters a culture of excellence within the educational community. By recognizing outstanding contributions, QAHE hopes to inspire other educators to strive for high standards and innovate in their teaching methods, ultimately benefiting students across the globe.

Award Criteria

Candidates for the Outstanding Educator Award will be evaluated based on several key criteria. These include teaching excellence, research contributions, and professional achievements.

Teaching Excellence is a critical component of the evaluation process. Nominees must provide evidence of outstanding teaching practices, innovative methodologies, and an effective use of contemporary research. This ensures that the award is given to those who not only teach but do so in a manner that engages and inspires their students.

Research Contributions also play a significant role in the assessment. Educators are expected to demonstrate how their research and writing have advanced the field of education. By emphasizing the importance of research, QAHE encourages educators to contribute to the body of knowledge that shapes educational practices worldwide.

Professional Contributions round out the evaluation criteria. Nominees should have notable achievements and recognitions within the educational community, showcasing their commitment to improving education as a whole.

Application Process

The application process for the Outstanding Educator Award is designed to be comprehensive yet straightforward. Eligible applicants must submit a detailed teaching portfolio that includes several essential components.

First, a Table of Contents should be included for easy navigation. Next, the portfolio must contain a Curriculum Vitae outlining the nominee’s professional experience and qualifications.

A Teaching Statement of no more than 600 words is required, detailing the nominee’s educational philosophy and approach to teaching. This is supplemented by a Teaching Philosophy statement of approximately 200 words, which provides further insight into the educator’s beliefs and methodologies.

Nominees are also asked to provide Impact Narratives, which should be approximately 300 words each. These narratives should illustrate the educator’s significant contributions to student learning and development, offering specific examples of their impact.

Finally, a Conclusion of around 100 words should summarize the nominee’s qualifications and contributions to education. If applicable, a List of Publications should also be included to highlight any relevant research or writings.

Recognition and Rewards

Awardees of the Outstanding Educator Award will receive a Digital Certificate, along with a profile listing on the QAHE website. This not only provides recognition for the individual educator but also enhances their professional profile, showcasing their commitment to educational excellence.

Additionally, awardees will be featured in QAHE’s news announcements, further celebrating their contributions and raising awareness about the importance of high-quality education.
