The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) is excited to announce the acceptance of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU). This partnership represents a significant advancement in the commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education across Africa and beyond.
In a recent correspondence from Dr. Bashir Muhammad Garba, Director of Communications at AAPU, the association expressed its dedication to collaborating on initiatives that promote quality assurance, professional development, and the exchange of academic resources among member institutions. This collaboration aims to drive improvements in educational standards within the region.
As part of this partnership, AAPU’s President, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, will be honored with the title of Honorary Fellow (Hon. FQAHE) of QAHE. This recognition acknowledges his leadership and invaluable contributions to the advancement of higher education in Africa.
The MOU outlines a framework for cooperation in several key areas, including curriculum development, research initiatives, and quality assurance processes. Additionally, it will facilitate opportunities for academic staff exchanges and collaborative projects, fostering a vibrant academic community that benefits students and institutions alike.
QAHE and AAPU are both committed to ensuring that higher education institutions maintain high standards of academic excellence. Through this partnership, they aim to establish a robust network that supports ongoing professional development and enhances educational outcomes for students across the continent.
Dr. Garba remarked, “This partnership with QAHE represents a pivotal moment for AAPU and our member institutions. Together, we can drive meaningful improvements in educational quality and contribute to the overall development of higher education in Africa.”
QAHE looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with AAPU and is eager to explore the positive impact this partnership will have on the higher education landscape. By working together, both organizations are poised to make significant strides in promoting quality assurance and educational excellence.
